Re: How long did it take?

    I agree.

I taught beginner guitar for several years. I had over 80 students at one point, adults, teens, kids. They all progressed at different speeds. There were several factors in their...

Look at the Eastwoods! They are very cool. Looks much like the Morgan Monroe above. Under $400.

    Re: NMD-Eastman!

Thanks all. Yea, I love that finish too. The Loar was nice, but had the tailpiece placed incorrectly. It probably didn't affect playability, but bugged me, so back it went. The finish on The Loar was...

    Re: NMD--Eastman!

It's an Eastman MD315. Nothin' fancy, just good all carved solid wood, well put together! Plain-jane stamped tailpiece. Tuners aren't the best but seem to work well so far. Ebony bridge, bone nut....

    NMD--Eastman!

Well, I sent the The Loar LM600 back because of a crookedly placed tailpiece. Replaced it with this marvelous Eastman and could NOT be happier:mandosmiley:

" This one really shows the distinctive approach to finish employed by the builder." Oh, you're VERY kind.

    Re: Acoustic/Electric recommendations?

For the type of music you describe (rock, country, blues, & pop) I also give thumbs up for the Godin. Yes, sounds somewhat weak played acoustically, but man, it shines when played through a small...

    Update on my LM600:

Sorry to say I sent it back. In checking it over I found the tailpiece to be installed incorrectly. It was several millimeters off of center. Hard to see from the normal...

    Re: Scooped fretboard ext.

I just picked up an new LM-600. I am NOT a fan of the extension! I dig in, and I also like playing at that 'sweet spot' that Denman John mentioned. I may scoop it first though. Not sure what to do...
