I too have enjoyed an Eastman 615 at a reasonable price compared to American made instruments. I have played it for 5 years now and have no complaints nor do I have the desire or funds to upgrade.
Thank you. It is beautiful part of the country.
Very nice indeed! Congratulations.

I recently recorded this short slow bluegrass-style tune. I am showing pictures I have taken in the mountains of West Virginia.
The tune is me on guitar and...
I play both guitar and mandolin and with many songs, I can play them on either instrument with good results. Some play easier on one instrument than the other. Mandolin works very well for old...
Couldn’t agree more…
Congrats and enjoy the journey of learning.
There’s got to at least be a song in this story
Somebody got a good one...
Good choice! Enjoy. I love my Eastman.
Thanks for sharing the "Cowgirl in the Sand" video too. I loved the steel guitar solo, but felt a little drunk after trying to keep up with the camera movements.
They do a good version of that...
Very nice! Thanks for posting that. I consider Neil Young to be one of the best songwriters of the Rock era. Mandolin Orange do a great job with this tune.
Unexpected and pleasant surprises are great rewards for the effort put into learning a new instrument. It sounds like you have had a very rewarding journey.
Playing and enjoying music through...
Very nice. A great tune. Gillian Welch's version is fantastic!
I only have it on CD, but have always considered it a great album with an astounding lineup.
That is a great story, and you got an instrument you will enjoy. Thanks for sharing.
I found the MD-615 to have a warmer, clear tone that I liked. I also preferred the feel of playing it better than the Loar. The Loar was good, but the Eastman was a definite step up.
I had a LM-520 for a couple of years and enjoyed it; however, I did sell it for $450 when I bought my Eastman 615md.
For what it is worth, I have the 615md and love it.

I have had to teach "musicality" to students. Often, a new student can learn the proper notes to play, but it ends up sounding what I call "robotical". I will play it back "robotically" and then I...
5% seems reasonable for what the format offers versus alternatives. I have bought and sold on Reverb without complaint.
