Just received my order from Elderly Instruments today. I guess the J75's that Ronnie McCoury plays are now new and improved EJ75's complete with new designed packaging. I went to the D'Addario...

Dear Moderators,
I forgot the password to my classified ad how do I retrieve it?
Sam Bush does pretty well with his open hand technique. I guess the "correct" technique is the one you develop and like the tone that you get with it and are able to scrub those strings with tremolo.
Dude, you were shown 3 years ago how to properly hold a pick at Mr. Compton's workshop.:))

Thank You Niles, that post was awesome. Also thank you for "Bluegrass Up The Neck" & "Pentatonic Mandolin". My head has yet to catch a fire, but come has come close.
Interesting in that just yesterday afternoon I tried to replace a tailpiece on my Kentucky KM 250 with an extra Weber tailpiece I have. It didn't line up with existing holes and the end pin hole is...

What is the advantage to having this option say as...
Just went through this personally, I had an A-style mandolin that I was playing quite often and it seemed i was always squeezing my fingers together to fit into the string/fret space. It affected...
Duane,
Ditto on the advice to try and play several different mandolins if you can. Also, have someone
else play them so you can listen to how they sound, are they balanced, do they sustain the...
As an "absolute beginner" to Celtic/Irish music genre, I have found this site to be quite helpful and it is free:

Just click on the Irish/Celtic Sessions tab and...
I'll chime in - Lauren Dudenbostel makes a very nice round braided strap, they have
them over @ Elderly once in awhile, for A & F styles.
I've made one from a nice piece of braided latigo from our...
Reckoning - The Dead
Stomp - Compton & Long
Hey Anthony!!
Are we going to get to play that fancy thing?
Or is going to be for your fingers only?
You might as well bang it into the table right off the bat
or let one of your kids get peanut...
