They have been sold! Thanks.
Does anyone still listen to CD's? I have a collection of Tim O'Brien CD's I'd like to pass on to someone for the cost of shipping handling, etc. I posted an ad in the Classifieds, but not sure if...
Very nice. Is this what I should expect for an Eastman OM's sound? If yes, I might have to think seriously about getting one.
I'm guessing it was a special order, since I don't see them listed on his website. ?
@Seter -- are you still just as impressed after 6 months? Has the instrument settled in?
I'm seeing an error on trying to play this....
Please change my name to Sheryl McDonald
As part of the Gordon County Fiddler's Conventions, John McEuen (founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) will bring his one man show to the Harris Arts Center in Calhoun Georgia on March 29,...
Hi Neal -- I have one of the carpenter jack Dyn-M's on my mandolin. I'm probably the one who bought the original seller's Dyn-M back in 2011. It lives on my Weber, and I think it sounds great.

I've had great luck with a Schertler DYN-M mandolin pickup (with a carpenter jack). Not the least expensive pickup, but great tone, and I installed it (right behind the bridge).
Yes ... I have. And yes, it is a very good (terrific) sounding flat top. They are made by Steve Smith. Nice instruments.
Neither of our two cats care one bit about mandolin playing.... but the violin?

I had tendonitis in my left wrist and it took forever to get over (maybe 4-5 months?) So much for the idea that it would take 6 weeks to heal. It did get better in that time, but not to the point of...
Just drop all your chords down by one step:
In Am, the verse goes Am, Dm, C, F, E, Am
Gm, Cm, Bb, Eb, D, Gm
and the bridge goes F, C, E, F, C, E, ...
It's a blanket of protection, in the event your violin bows are not securely locked into the the bow spinners, and the frog end of the bow gets loose and falls on the violin top. (marring, denting,...
Sorry Allen... to me it now looks like one of those white Fender violins. It's lost it's character.
Too bad they ruined it.
My strap lock solution is to use a bread plastic clip.... like this

I'm trying to learn here. What is a modern neck profile? More v shaped, or ??
Thanks.
So what does the Gil neck look like?
He just needs to find "the one" without having to buy them all to try them out.
The RedEye does have a effects loop (in and out) you can run a tuner through, and not affect the sound.
So far, the worst I've seen is: "sounds like a dream" Huh?
Ahh, but even Dem said it -- the search isn't over.
Doesn't he need a backup mandolin?
What I seemed to miss reading in this story, is how Dem ended up with no mandolins. That doesn't sound...
