Thanks for listening!
Here's a video of me playing my new song, THAT'S RIGHT, on my new Godin A8 Electric-Acoustic mandolin. Hope you like it!

My teacher, the great Charles Burnham, says "you can never have too many mandolins."
I love my new Godin, though the input is right where the mandolin sits on my leg. I don't think that's the right way to play, but... it's how I play. Because of that, I had to get an L-shaped plug...
I've never tried any alternate tunings on the mandolin. However, I'm playing with a guy who was in a band where they all tuned their instruments a flat lower. On the mandolin, of course, G becomes...
Thanks. I've decided to go for the repair and then, when it shorts out again, to start looking.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for replying! What's the model of the K&K you own and how is it installed?
I had to replace my Realist Mandolin Pickup about 8 months after I bought it, due to it shorting out. It was covered by the warranty and was replaced free of charge. I now have to either replace it...
Hey guys! Thanks for your help! I know what I need to do. Make more $!
Thanks, Jon. Do you have any other suggestions? Does this mean my mandolin needs to have a pickup?
I'd like to accompany myself on mandolin and sing in the park, outdoor cafes, bars, etc. I need amplification. It was suggested I get two mikes (one for voice, one for mandolin/guitar) and go...
Thanks for all your help. I thought it was something I should do annually. One fellow I met, told me he took his instrument to the shop every six months.
How often should you take your mandolin into the shop for a check-up? Re: fretwork, adjustments, etc.? Should it be annual? Once every six months? Or just as needed? Thanks.
My FF fits in the stock Breedlove case with the TG on.
Guess I'll try again. Maybe I'm missing something?
I could get the case closed if I forced it. I can't imagine that wouldn't put pressure on the bridge. Did you have to force it closed? Maybe my case is different? My Breedlove KF was manufactured...
It's starting to look bleak. I measured about 4+" or so from the top of the bridge to the widest part of the Tone-Gard. I can't find anything that is a definite fit. Musicians Friend recommended...
Thanks for your help, Jim.
I leave mine on all the time and now I need a new case!
I have Mike Marshall's instructional dvd for mandolin, and he demonstrates the Tone-Gard and encourages all us novices to get one. I eventually did and am very happy with it.
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive case that will house my Breedlove KF with a Tone-Gard? I measured the depth of the Breedlove case it was about 3 1/2". I need at least 4" to be safe. I can't...
I went there to look at mandolins, but couldn't really afford to buy. I lucked-out with a fellow selling his Breedlove on Craigslist. I've been learning as I go along. I learned about Tone-Gard...
The Ferry is free. It's a great ride, too. It's about a half hour each way, plus the wait for the boat.
Thanks, Tony. It's a subway ride, a ferry ride and a bus ride. It's about 2 hours each way. Not impossible.
