    Re: New (to me) mandolute

I am pretty sure what I am seeing is a visible gap between the back and the ribs with glue strands. I think the back was removed at some point and re glued. But I could be wrong.

    Re: Persimmon mandolins?

James, that is indeed some beautiful persimmon you have there. I have never seen a mandolin made from it but a few years ago a couple of friends in Durham NC were making banjo pots from it.

This is the kind of posting that always confuses me, the OP posts a cryptic or very fague message and then there is zero follow up or clarification. What the heck is the point?!

Re: Flat Tops, Waterloo and others

I have played a Waterloo and thought it was a bit bright. I would explore Crystal Forest, Sawshyn, used Flatiron army-navy mandolins before I bought a Waterloo.

Re: This weeks mandolin that won't get a bid or buyer

I was kind of wondering if the whole ad could be a scam because the seller offers no info at all, really. Then I saw the other listings he has and they are all way over priced. IMO

    Re: Golden Gate Guitar Picks

Kevin, your link appears not to work. I used to play GG mandolin picks and reshaped them to my liking. Now I am playing Apollo (peek 1.4mm) and Primetone picks.
