Re: Kentucky 272 and my big problem

Congrats! A friend of mine recently got a KM-276, basically the same thing, she has a beautiful Gibson F-5 but the 276 is getting all the play time lately between the two. It plays really good,...

  5. Experienced Kentucky Players Oval Question

    Possibly worlds dumbest question...guilty!

Do we think the oval on a Kentucky KM-270, 272, 276 etc.is the same size as the oval on the Kentucky KM-670?

    TIA!

Re: Does my mandolin sound cheap???

Way, way more experienced mando players than me here chiming in but yeah...you do have light strings on as opposed to mediums which will make a difference and yeah it does appear on the single note...

    Re: Eastwood Mandocaster Bridge Peoples...

Hahaha...oh yeah that. The phillips head saddle screws also are slanted downwards which is less than optimal I'm thinking. This model used to come with a different bridge with only two saddles, 4...

    Eastwood Mandocaster Bridge Peoples...

    Hello friends,

Alright people, somebody tell me about this. Tweaking a friend's Mandocaster. Cool little mini-Tele style. Taking the action down for her, losing a little relief, lowering the...

Re: Best Way to Practice Moveable Chords???

Sorry about that. i was thinking something like Audacity which is free, has a slight learning curve though & the tunes can get a bit munchkin-like sounding if you stray too far from the original key...

Re: Best Way to Practice Moveable Chords???

I think she just wants to practice tunes in a bunch of different keys...playing along with the track. There's a bunch of software out there that'll change the keys..

    Re: Eastman OM - a one-month review

I'm surprised Eastman doesn't do an Archtop OM like Northfield's. I mean they have the 805 Mando Cello which is perhaps the 805 Archtop Guitar Body maybe. I guess they're not tooled up for a smaller...

Re: Got me an Eastman MD315...

Hey maxr, thanks - shall do! My reaction is a bit uhh premature no doubt but I'm hangin' on to it. I put some GHS A270s on, the wound strings do seem a bit brighter than EJ74s but they're new. I'm...

Re: Stringing question, new to octave

    Greetings,

A friend of mine just bought a Northfield Archtop Octave, although a different build from yours and a longer scale at 22", their sets are a little bolder than the EJ80s.
