is a way case carrying strap kit works..

'Alligator' clip pickups can clamp on to the bridge and send a signal to a pedal tuner if that is what you want..
Such a scheme is common for banjos,, rather than muddying the signal thru head...
Eastman also produces bowl back cases to go with the mandolins they made...
Old Gibson A has a ridge, but the sides on either side of that ridge are rounded. :popcorn:
there are versions of ye old Gibson tailpieces available ,
a good luthier can always fill holes and make new ones
if the new tailpiece is not spot on in all regards.

testing it by moving it around on the top to find the sweet spot then having it fixed on...
Thicker string reaches pitch @ higher tension,
so if you play with a heavy right hand it will take that harder picking force.
