  1. Re: Trouble with my mandolin not agreeing with my straps

I use mbruno’s method on my A’s. My F seems to ride okay on the scroll.

Fantastic! Congratulations on a great choice. I just bought one of Sonny’s A5’s a few months ago and couldn’t be happier.

    Re: NMC Bass preamp

Behringer makes some pretty amazingly inexpensive pedals that can run on a 9v battery, including a couple for bass (a tube modeling preamp and an equalizer at least). Might be worth trying to see if...

The ad appears to be gone so I can’t see what you ended up with… but as the recent buyer of a Morris I’ll say congratulations on a great choice!

Re: New Guy Looking For Recommendations

It’s hard to beat the value of either an Eastman or a Morris in your price range. I have both, and the Morris A4 oval is a lifetime keeper and fits really well for Buffett and old rock/country tunes.

    Re: NMD: Morris F5 #482

Congratulations! If I didn’t already have an F that one might have gone home with me a few weeks ago when I visited Sonny. Instead I bought the blue A4, the sound just blew me away.

Re: Oval hole mando comparable to a Kentucky KM-505?

If I hadn’t just bought the blue one a couple of weeks ago I’d be all over that one in the classifieds. It’s a fantastic deal. And yes, Sonny is a super nice guy.

Re: Oval hole mando comparable to a Kentucky KM-505?

I’m a huge fan of my new Morris A4, carved top oval. There’s a recording of it on my NMD post about it. It’s my favorite sounding mandolin I’ve played.

    Re: What are your roles?

I made the set lists and ran the sound through my board and PA so the band started calling me Captain :)
But I moved away this winter so now I’m “special musical guest” when I go back to visit :)

Re: Porcupine Tree - Trains - chord Dadd4add9

An easy cheat… look up the tabs in Ultimate Guitar app. If the guitar chords are shown with a capo, switch instruments to piano and it’ll show chords for no capo. In this case it shows Gsus2 instead...
  22. Re: What Pickup/Pre-amp pedal are you currently using?

One JJB and several with K&K, wireless to a ToneDexter cabled to the mixer. JJB sounds the best I think.
