NMC, and not me but a good friend and player who showed me this original tune on New Years.
Got first crack playing mandolin over it and the B section is fun to play tremolo over.

Any chance for a picture of the fingerboard inlays? Unique look
That one hurt to watch, moreso trying to acquire it twice.
Wow! Someone’s a lucky Dawg! That octave is a dream instrument to me in every spec.
I would suggest looking at Sawchyn mandolins, he makes stunning sounding and looking instruments.
Unfortunately you would be unlikely to try one first. I would highly recommend them though!
What I would be interested in as a potential buyer is the current market value for these.
The most recently listed Dawg seems a bit high to me.
Having been offered the latest Halifax Dawg for...
Two separate posts above where removed for violation of forum posting guidelines, whos user name matches a name with a recently listed KM-DAWG, your not being admonished whatsoever.
Take the one you clearly want to.
Don't worry about others of course and anyone judging you based on your instrument isn't a friend you would likely want anyway.
Trigger has been repaired, reinforced and worn through again.
Recently I had just read some old threads on this mandolin. I'm curious if it has sat there for 10 years or sold and made its way back.
Sounds great in the video clips, looks amazing too price...
Good news about Weber. I can only hope they continue to offer the F20 Octave, those are just awesome!
Bad news about Gibson, it felt like they where very good offerings lately.
I would also add when mentioning orchestra players in the track list that they should be introduced before with a personnel list.
I would suggest moving the track list to the end and opening with the the mandolin orchestra introduction.
Most concert programs I receive are that type of format.
Good Luck and look forward to...
Huge Marty fan here, and I will say the only sensible recommendation is to listen to everything and buy what you love.
You said it yerself he’s one of the greats!
How about “Don’t Give Your Heart (to a Rambler)”
favourite of mine to play.
Congrats on a belated NMD!
I had seen that sell almost as fast as it listed the other day and was slightly disappointed. Sounds like I may get a second chance!
Name of the tune is “Dawg’s Waltz”.
You want two mandolins. I don’t think that’s the end of discussion.
A great bluegrass mandolin can serve an adept player well in other styles.
Consider the different tones available with...
Didn’t mean to diagnose your mandolin based on my previous instrument.
Would agree with Don about a sound post and had considered that with mine.
Post some pictures if you can please.
Unfortunately I do have experience in exactly this. I bought my 2015 Dave Harvey signed F-9 new from a shop with a great warranty so I had double.
After starting to develop issues. Noticed the...
That looks like a fat boy to a T; your probably right about HD seeing them and offering them in 90.
If your the type to name your instruments maybe you just picked up your (little) “Fat Boy”.
Congrats! The flame on the neck is beautiful. As well as the curly maple back piece.
I indeed hope they stepped up their game. I had a 2015 Harvey signed that was a dog; carved at 3mm on the bass...
Was the sympatico email in an above comment the correct one?
That Dawg was “the one” that got away from me Kirk!
