I have absolutely no financial interest in this, but I have to say, in my opinion, this is being offered at an incredible price!
Hats off to Will Kimble for this listing!

Certainly good value compared to the Duane Eddy mandolin!
I am instrument poor at the moment, otherwise I'd be all over it.

I saw Andy Statman in February playing this mandolin. In his hands it sounded perfect in every way. Congrats to the lucky one to pick it up for a song (pun intended).

It's certainly a rare chance to get an incredible instrument (one of the best I've heard) with an impeccable pedigree. Congrats to the next owner who I hope will continue to make wonderful music with it.
Kinda makes you think about those new two points too though, right? Glassweb said he found his 'new sound' with one...
This is one of the very few artist-owned instruments of any type that has me digging through couches all over the state looking for enough cash to get it. I'll probably be too late, but I gotta try...
Yes a real one time shot. I bet it sounds amazing. By the way I do not wonder about Will's 2 points. J # 180 is my nearly constant companion. Quite possibly my favorite material thing.
I couldn't own that mandolin because it would take away one of my favorite excuses. If I played that mandolin I would no doubt still sound terrible and then I could only blame my poor skills. Now at least I can share the blame with my equipment.

Hey, looks like Andy and I have more in common than I thought! I traded a Kimble F-5 (real tight flamed one piece back) for a two-point Kimble about 6 years ago. Sold the two pointer to the Dawg, and now I have neither and I too am looking around for spare change to get this one
Best of luck to Will and Andy. Looks like a really fine instrument which Andy might also regret letting go of just like me.

I got to play this very mandolin yesterday! I met its new owner and got to ply it and compare it to my 2 point a bit. They sound quite similar. The biggest thing I noticed is how responsive and"loose" the Statman F is. 4 years older and played constantly. The neck has been reshaped by the Dude to have a harder v shape.
Oh yeah. I played it this past summer when Will had it. Anyone who wants to argue that an instrument does not open up as it gets "played in", need only take a spin on that one.
