    Default mandolintab.net

    Has mandolintab.net bit the dust?

I can get to the homepage but when I try to access a tab file via the alphabetical index, I get an error message telling me to download a browser extension of some sort. The random file feature works and will display a tab file on my screen, so I know that my Chrome browser can handle the graphic display.

    Thanks in advance!

I tried Safari on my iMac and got the same results as with Chrome on my PC - the only thing that works is "Random Tune". Otherwise, a series of ads over a blank page. Can you please describe your procedure? Thanks.

It hasn't worked for me in the last couple of years. No matter what I try it delivers up "Bang Your Frog on the Sofa", which, believe it or not, appears to be an actual tune. Have tried Chrome, Edge, Firefox, IE - same result.

All I have ever gotten that site was Irish Washer Woman, for no reason. It is a dead site on both of my browsers.

Try sending Simon an email to ask about the site. His copyright date is 9 years old, and he probably hasn't updated the site in years. Likely the server he uses has upgraded their php version several times since he has done any maintenance, and his code needs some updates.

Probably as Mark says, but another possibility could be that mandolintab is great resource, and has many users who come over from thesession.org

Most tunes have different regional variations and at thesession the tunes have notes below and are mostly very well represented.
If mandolintab favours particular versions over others especially without saying why one version is preferred to another then it could be problematic in an archive, ‘The Tradition’ sort of way.
