    Have we seen this mandola, Mary? Lawrence sure makes a beauty, and his mandolas are played by some of the best in the business.

    It might be not really representative example since bottom strings appear to be tuned in octaves rather than unisons. But it looks like the body size is somewhere close to 0-style guitar, and I like the sound - it's something like more punchy tenor guitar, not that much zing

    I think Austin Clark deserves a shout out for his archtop octave mandolins, 20.25" scale length. I don't really know what I'm doing on one, but I've tried his at a couple festivals and they got my juices flowing for sure.
