Looks pretty classy - anyone out there played one of his F-5s?
I don't knowis this is the same one that was discussed on this thread and listed recently in the classifieds?

The ad says there are only a few, maybe 5, in the U.S. and this is one. The one in the classifieds was in Germany if I remember. That's if I remember, anybody's guess.

Looks very nice indeed. It appears to have vintage sized fret wire rather than the larger modern style. Would be nice to hear it.

I'd have been more tempted if it had been an A instead of an F model. Would have liked to heard it. Maybe whoever bought it hangs around here and will give us a sound sample.

I believe he has studied Loar extensively and a contact of mine in Scotland has one. I think this one looks particularly good. Some lucky person will be enjoying it.
As I said in the other thread:
They are as rare as henŽs teeth, they are very (!) well made, they sound extremely nice and they are a value, that is unbeatable at that price range (sound quality in the leage of high roller instruments, price half that of a Northfield F-5 - the HoGo in Germany, compared to what youŽd have to pay for a Northfield F-5 in Germany).
I lifted the main picture from the reverb ad.
I also find it nice, that you, Adrian, weighed in on the topic.

I ended up with this mandolin! Haven't had too much time to play on since I've gotten it but it is a killer mandolin. Here is a quick video I made the day I got it. Short, sweet and very poor video (and audio) quality I'll have something of better quality at some point... Stoked to have this in the collection!
Congrats! Come back to that Monroe workshop and bring that thing with you. Sounds great!
Really Nice. Congrats
Dang! Sound great, man
Congrats!
Sounds great. Congrats on the new acquisition.
I can only play half as much as I want, because I only play half as much as I would like.
