Well, guess it's no longer the big secret we were told to keep hush-hush. LOL.

Here's the sign-up on their site to be informed of all things related to this. Seems to be kind of difficult to locate.

Nice! I may to have to add that to my Mike Marshall subscription (as far as I know anyway he isn't going anywhere).

Yeah, I think this will be additional bluegrass mandolin content, not a replacement. They've done this with bluegrass banjo, adding the Noam Pikelny course in addition to the existing Tony Trishka course.

My first thought was "Darn, I'm already paying for Mike Marshall, isn't there a way I can add this and not pay twice as much?"
My second thought was, "Mike's content would be a deal at twice the price, and I have only been paying half price anyway because you can set your watch by Artistworks' 50% off sales. So why would I not just add the Sierra Hull lessons? I have watched lots of her videos and I have no doubt that these too will be worth every penny."
Can't wait. I'll be signing up ASAP.

Pro move - submit the same video to Mike and Sierra and get different feedback from each one.

I’d love to see her go into her rhythm playing in great detail. It’s so unique, and rarely uses those ol chop chords.

this will be an amazing course. i have the dvd homespun(i think) put out when Sierra was 14 yrs old(or something like that), even at that early age, it was an excellent video and had a lot to offer.

Any examples of the type of unique rhythm playing you are referring to?

I'm not that familiar with Sierra, but i really enjoyed a few things I've heard. I'm considering signing up for the Artistworks course.

    Allow me.

    She does chop when appropriate.

    No chop here.

By not playing chop chords, I was referring specifically to the four finger basic BG major chop chord. I think I remember hearing that as a youngster, she couldn't make the reach with her left hand for a four finger G chord so she learned alternative shapes that suit her hands better. I think that Gold Rush video is a good example of that. She's still playing a "chop" style rhythm with lots of double stops on the G and D strings. Her unique rhythm playing is more apparent on some of her original songs. A couple good examples off the top of my head are the title tracks off her last two albums "25 Trips" and "Weighted Mind" here's a video of the latter.

I actually asked Sierra on her Patreon if there would be some of her songs included in her Artistworks lessons, and she said that there is indeed a handful of her original tunes included in the mix.

Gotta thank Sierra for choosing the light blue nail polish! It helps me follow her fingerings! Just kidding. What a great performance.
