Default Breakin' Up Winter at Cedars of Lebanon State Park Mar. 6-9, 2014

The Nashville Old-Time String Band Association (NOTSBA) has a delicious string band gathering coming up soon. Breakin' Up Winter is held annually on the first full weekend of March at Cedars of Lebanon State Park, Lebanon, TN.

Go here to learn more: http://www.nashvilleoldtime.org/BUW Be sure to register for the entire weekend of old-time string band music. Bluegrass musicians need to switch to old-time for this event. It's not bluegrass!

The weekend festival for 2014 is March 6-9. You will find jammin', singin', noted legendary old-time performers (like, say, um...Alice Gerrard this year) to talk about their craft, waxed cylinder recording of your particular sound, good food from the Mad Platter (if you register in time), a great old stone lodge with a great old fireplace and a warm fire going, records and CDs plus books and music from the Cleff'd Ear, and goodness-knows-what-else. Plenty of pickin' indoors and out around the grounds of the beautiful Cedars of Lebanon State Park.

Go now to the Nashville Old-Time String Band Association website to learn more. Plan to be there with us. Stay for Sunday mornin' singin' with lots of folks who love the old hymns and songs of yesteryear.

Directions to Cedars of Lebanon State Park: I-40 in TN to exit 238. That's US 231 highway. Go south for six miles toward Murfreesboro. Pass the ever-present outdoor flea market. Slow down and look to the left for the entrance to Cedars. Follow the fiddle signs into the park. Join the fun! You'll have a country-dog good time at Breakin' Up Winter!

There are great restaurants, hotels, and motels at exit 238, whether you turn left or right off I-40.
