    Very cool, Jake. I haven't seen one of those, only the Paramount ones and the guitar shaped ones that Paramount made for Martin.

    Heck, no -- that price was pretty wild. I would expect it to have sold for around $600-700 ready for resale! Who knows, though, I'm continually confused by what's getting popular and moving up in price point these days.

    I would say that was a one-off event by someone who had the cash and figured "when would I see another". Either it goes to a collector or we will see it again, either fixed up or as-is.

    Then again there were quite a few last minute bids and it looks like the high bidder was using snipe software... exactly 6 seconds before the end.

    Well... I'll tell you... it may have been worth about $450 to me as-is... nice looking thing, but the pickguard was unoriginal and screwed into the top and it was missing $100-150 worth of 4:1 tuners at the headstock, the original bridge, and the cloud tailpiece.
