Park House Pittsburgh Jam

Hi everybody,

I'm in Pittsburgh for the holiday, and I see that the Park House now has a bluegrass jam on Wednesday nights. I was thinking of going tonight. Has anyone ever gone to this one? Good picking?

I went to the Park House tonight, so I can answer my own question for future searchers: it was not exactly a jam but rather a solid band inviting any guests in the room to come up and play. Good pickers.

A warning to other musicians thinking of going: they have a microphone, but the room is very loud, and I could not hear myself at all. That might have been an anomaly, a product of the pre-Thanksgiving crowd.

Thanks for the report Amanda. I went with a friend to a jam not far from here. It turned out to be a similar situation, an electric country band in a smoky room. Fortunately we have a local monthly jam here.
