    Default Accordions, mandolins and eggnog...

It's December so eggnog has invaded my fridge and added pounds to the bathroom scale. In addition, a good friend has returned my vintage Cajun accordion on a pay-me-as-you-can basis so the mandolin is an hour-a-day thing instead of every free moment. I sold it years ago and boy-howdy it is one of Marc's early boxes and sounds terrific.

In the meantime, I did learn a ton of Cajun songs on the Kentucky and I'm thinking a mandolin might be a worthy addition to a tradition Cajun band. Anyone here doing that exact thing?

    Bon ton roulet... ;- )

Is the question--are we playing mandolins in trad Cajun? Or, are you asking if we're playing accordion?

Michael Doucet played mandolin (infrequently) in Beausoleil. Other than that, haven't heard much Cajun mandolin.
