    Default Got a screw loose!

I have an old Gibson A and when I was changing strings I realized that I lost a screw on one of the tuners that holds the gear to the post that the string twists around.

I checked out some sites and I don't see anywhere to pick one of these up. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Those screws are 4-36 x 3/16". They were used on things like very old phones, pin ball machines and such. You'll have to find one in some very old stock in a warehouse somewhere. Or, PM me and I'll mail you one.

Carefully take another screw out and go visit your local fretted instrument store to see if they have a matching one. Actually, if you do that bring the whole instrument. Or take the screw to a local hardware store and see if they can help you find a replacement.

Usually old music store owners have a "possibles" box. Chock full of stuff they didn't want to throw away . You can usually find one given time. R/
