    I strum on mando all the time. It's true that bluegrass mando often counters the guitar, but bluegrass is just one style.

    As a long-time guitar player, I can tell you that mando chords are laid out much more logically than uke chords, but it's really just a matter of what you're used to. If your main instrument is the violin, you're likely to get the hang of GDEA more quickly than DGBE.

    So try it. Or - just skip the uke idea and dive right into mando!
