MAS is still a whole lot cheaper than WAS.

I agree with roysboy.....some mandolins do not need any tweeks.....ever.

Any how.. my 1 tweak .. I found the wood in the fingerboard on my Mix Carbon fiber A5

took on moisture and swelled, causing the frets more closely spaced up the neck

where the saw cuts were more frequent, so surface area greater, It absorbs moisture
and the frets came UP ..

so I , during the dry months (Oregon coast that is 2 of them) and I let oil soak in
to the wood to fill the pores instead , and the frets height stays stable now..

It is a Carbon-epoxy not a wood mandolin , it may be less advisable on one of those.. YMMV.

Well, I've done 7 out of your 10 tweaks on one or more of my mandolins, for what it's worth! But I generally don't buy instruments with the intent of tweaking them.

I like how you have collated these Top 10 tweaks with just the right amount of detail to make sense. Thank you for your work.

Sometimes I think about an arm rest. Other times I don't. Maybe I'll try it one day.

Nice list and description of top tweaks by sblock. Thanks.

But personally if I wanted a tweaker hobby I'd still own a 60s muscle car.
