Default Joe Val 2014 Feb 14-16

Who's going to be there? Anyone taking the mandolin class with Shawn Lane on Friday?

I've gone the last 4 or 5 years, and it's one of my favorite fests. This year unfortunately I can only make it Fri-Sat, but I'm determined to make the 2 days count! Wasn't planning on taking a class, but seeing how Shawn is one of my all time favorite players I couldn't resit a chance to see what makes him tick. Anyone else going to be there? I usually run into at least a few cafe-ers...

I know Marty Macica will have his mandolin booth there as usual. I'll probably be hanging around there a while, feel free to say howdy!

I'll be there! I'm not planning to take the mandolin class, though it looks like an excellent value.

Looking forward to playing my fingers off. It would be fun to plan some kind of meet-up of any Cafe members in attendance over the course of the weekend. I'd love to meet folks in person.

The Shawn Lane workshop is a four-hour master class. I'll be teaching a "fast track" class for beginners at the same time, as well as workshops throughout the weekend. Oh, and plenty of jamming! This is a great festival, so hoping to meet friends new and old, and play some music!

I see that the workshop schedule has been posted: http://www.bbu.org/events/joe-val-festival/workshops/

At the very least, I plan to attend the workshop with Skip Gorman on Saturday at 10:00 am and the one at 5:00 pm with Jesse Brock, and if anybody has other recommendations, lay 'em on me.
