How absolutely WONDERFUL! Congratulations to you all. Distance, and a murderous work-schedule, will keep me away. Some day, though...

Just taking a moment to shamelessly pull this to the top of the recent-post list - as a reminder and continuing invitation.

Hope to see you if you're in the area!

    -Allen.

Let me say right up front I'm very proud of the Dayton Mandolin Orchestra - and I don't just say that due to bias. # #This orchestra has worked hard on some very challenging literature for such a young group, and they pulled off an excellent show. The acoustics in Sears Hall were very gracious to our plucked strings sound, and everything went along very smoothly. It seemed (to me, at least) that the evening literally flew by.

We had a very receptive audience - so receptive, in fact, that they requested an encore; not once, but twice! We graciously obliged with Brahms' "Hungarian Rhapsody #5" (con rubato; sans conductor) and Lennon/McCartney's "When I'm Sixty-four". (Seemed to be a hit with the audience!)

We're looking forward to the Second Annual "March *MARCH MADNESS* and Other Musical Novelties" program.

    -Allen.

As a member of DMO, I have to say that we are extremely fortunate to have such a gifted director---Allen is really special!

I would have been there...if I hadn't been at a conference in Marietta. Ah well, next time...
