Trying to learn the version of "Laird of Drumblaire" by the Bothy Band (from 1975). #I have most of it down but am looking to learn those fast fiddle runs at the end of each phrase. #Can anyone help? #What are they playing and can anyone's fingers move so fast withot tying themselves into knots?

That's devilishly hard on mandolin, but possible. Cross reference the silly wizrd (Phil Cunningham) setting and the one from "Celtic Fiddle Festival" (Johnny Cunningham). It's just a string of triplets, albeit quite fast. I can do maybe 75% of reel speed and get them in, but beyond that I haven't tried pushing too hard. I bet it'll take a while to nail it

Thanks,I think I've got them by listening (not to speed though)

Can't wait to hear the Silly Wizard one though, I really like their stuff.

Is this also called Angus Campbell when not played in strathspey? Or am I totally confused? If not, what is the strathspey version of Angus Campbell called?

Is there a good midi or MP3 of Laird of Drumblaire online?
