Claudine Langille (Touchstone, Gypsy Reel) came to give a master class in Celtic Mandolin last week. What fun!

For those that don't know her, Claudine Langille was the tenor banjo and mandolinist from Triona O'Domhnaill's "Touchstone", the first musical project that she engaged in after leaving the Bothy Band, and before Nightnoise.

Claudine is one of the earliest purveyors of celtic mandolin and carries the tradition forward, almost 40 years later.

The class learned about left and right hand ornamentation, appropriate accompaniment and improvisation, some chording concepts.

It was great fun and we were happy to have here for a few hours.

A recording was made of the class, which may become available soon. If you are interested, please contact me through my website. When/if it does become available, I will put it up on Dropbox.
