Default "Migrations" by Matt Flinner :: world premiere

The one and only Matt Flinner has written a new long-form composition (~25 minutes) for 5-piece stringband (banjo, mandolin, guitar, violin and bass) that we will premiere next week in Colorado. We are also recording it for a cd release sometime in the fall of 2014, but I thought that mandolin and Flinner fans out there might be interested in seeing us play this work for the first time. It is really a stunningly beautiful piece of music, as you might expect from Flinner.

You can hear a couple of the other commissions we have been working on:

I saw Matt years ago over here in the UK when he was playing with Tony Furtado & Sally Truitt in 'Sugarbeat' & i've followed his playing ever since. 'Migrations' sounds like a terrific project,so please post again when it's available.
I just had a look at your web page Jake - that's a seriously 'nasty' banjo you've got there (drools loudly !) One of my all time favourite banjos - hug it to bits,

    Weber F-5 'Fern'.
    Lebeda F-5 "Special".
    Stelling Bellflower BANJO
    Tokai - 'Tele-alike'.
    Ellis DeLuxe "A" style.
