    Flatrock …

You've got the directions thanks to Amanda. Friends of ours are involved with it (the Hammonds) and Lynne went last year and got a tremendous amount out of the weekend. (A year's worth of work.) The other folks that i've corresponded with since have been wonderful. What's not to like?

Thanks, Nick! I've had it since 2009, and it sounds pretty good these days. If I see you at Monroe Camp in Sept., I'll be sure to let you have a few whacks on it

Looking forward to meeting some Cafe members at Camp North. If you see my Mandolin Cafe sticker, be sure to identify yourselves!

Looking forward to it very much; the unofficial opening (sometimes) of the outdoor jamming season!

I'll be there. My first time at MCN. I'll be playing my Phoenix Ultra and a borrowed Martin D16. Looking forward to it! See you all there.

Pickloser, Glad to see you out and about. Are you going to Tom Johnson this year? I got a reservation for the RV. A-25. It's the week after Swanny.

I had an excellent time. The jamming was a blast. I enjoyed meeting Amanda and hearing her clean and creative picking. As always, I was blown away by my mandolin heroes, Alan Bibey and Don Stiernberg. I had classes for the first time with David Surette. What a delight! He was prepared, stayed on-topic, and presented just the right amount of information given time constraints. He was also very kind to twin Westphalia Waltz with me on the last day, capping my MCN experience with a true highlight. I had to really concentrate, trying to listen to what he was doing while I kept repeating to myself, "don't panic."

(Thanks, John. It's wonderful to be out and about again. I am doing incredibly well. I hope to jam with you at Swannanoa and at SKAK too, but I don't think I'll be going to Tom Johnson. This retirement thing is marvelous! I'm sooooo glad I get to enjoy it.)

I wish! Unfortunately, I can't get away from work right now--plus I spent all my money on a new octave (so sad...). Almost definitely going next year though!
