a easy home made string winder
On my last vacation, I lost my string winder (manual one) and I have to replace nylon strings on one of my guitar. It's a pain to turn the tuning heads by hand.
I remembered having seen the pro using string winder that are turned by an electric screw driver. So I found in my "tool box" a few pieces of plastic/rubber that seem to come of the legs of a chair. Drill a hole in the center and put in a nut & bolt, voila, it works great as string winder, so I made two of them in just two minutes.
It has square shape and its diagonal is a bit longer than the tuning head.
I will upload photos later as I currently have trouble uploading them.

Here is the public link to my DropBox showing how it looks. This forum still has trouble uploading photos.

I hope the link works. The diagonal measures about 1" 1/8.
Turning clock wise will unwind the strings (both sides) and turning counter clock wise to tighten the strings.
