Thread: Instructor in Philadelphia?

  1. #1

    Default Instructor in Philadelphia?

I'll be moving to Philadelphia at the beginning of April and I'd like to begin lessons as soon as I get into town. If anybody is able to recommend an instructor in the city, I'd really appreciate it. I'm mostly interested in folk and classical music, but at this point, I'm still relatively new to the instrument and I'd like to explore across genres as much as possible.

    Thanks in advance,
    Craig

Congrats on your upcoming move to Philly....you should contact Mark Linkins and Joe Todaro....they run two mandolin orchestras and know lots of mandolinists. You can find Joe's music store Todaro Music in Landsdale online....tell him you were referred by Brad the recording engineer...he'll know.

I take mandolin lessons in south Philadelphia. (South Broad Street)
My teacher has a diverse musical background (plays in the pit for shows downtown, has his own band and they perform all over, plays Italian mando for festivals and teaches at a music school.) He is a real easy going and knowlegable guy. (Mando, guitar, uk, cello, piano, etc...)Email me directly if you want his name/number.
    Good luck on your move.
