Perhaps Craigslist is just not reaching your desired audience.

Current Stable: Two Tenor Guitars (Martin 515, Blueridge BR-40T), a Tenor Banjo (Deering GoodTime 17-Fret), a Mandolin (Burgess #7). two Banjo-Ukes and five Ukuleles..

The inventory is always in some flux, but that's part of the fun.

They List at $730ish. They Retail for $540ish. A used one at say 60% of Retail would be $325ish... Is that in your ballpark?

The café classifieds is the exact audience you want.

Loars must be popular - there's a bunch in the Classifieds and two of them are in there TWICE...

Ditto on just listing it on the classifieds here. I find that it's hard to get much response for any mandolins on craigslist no matter how well you price it.

Yeah, $325 works. I was at $350. I can post it here i guess but I'm not so good with a camera.. Maybe I'll give that a shot. Thanks!

This seems to be the same north of the border in Vancouver . I had one call on my Eastman when I sold it last year . I see many mandolins on there for weeks on end ....no matter the price . There is a dearth of acoustic /bluegrass music in this neck of the woods which is , no doubt , a factor . At present there is a Kentucky KM-340 WITH a hardshell case on our local Craigslist for 125.00 ..its been there for several weeks and it looks to be in very good condition. I wish I needed one .

Don't forget to renew your Craigslist post before it gets pushed too far down. You're allowed to renew it every three days and it only takes a click on the original link to do it; this moves it back to the top. I think a lot of CL people forget this feature. I did this with an old guitar; it took a month to eventually sell but it did. Had I not been renewing it every three days I doubt if it would have sold.

Craigslist selling can be bit of a pig in poke. In our area we had a Clark and a Lebeda that sat on there months. There are lots of low end mandolins on CL.

You might try listing it on other Craigslists in more mando-centric areas, as long as you don't mind shipping.

I found my Martin A on Boston Craigslist for $400, just the latest in a string of good experiences I've had with CL.

Hmmm, ya know, I may have to start looking at CL. I wouldn't mind having a "beater" mandolin or 2 that was a decent mando, if I could get them for $125 ....

Reverb. I have heard nothing but good things about them. compared to Evil Bay. Their are usually a few mandolins near me on Craigslist. I have found them to be a bit over priced, or close to what GC or Sam Ash would sell them for used. And every now and then I see the 1916 A stele Gibson going for 2500. It stays there for quite some time. Only a few cracks that were professionally cracked and repaired. Mostly original. Case almost fits it! NO TRADES!
    Its not a backwards guitar.
