The NEW AMERICAN MANDOLIN ENSEMBLE will be performing at the invitation-only EUROFESTIVAL 2014 in Bruchsal, Germany, in May of this year. Their tours will include dates in Saarland and the Netherlands. The purpose of the tour is to present the best of new original compositions for plucked strings from the USA. In their spring concerts, NAME will be featuring works by Chris Acquavella, Owen Hartford, Frank Wallace, Clarice Assad, Michael Nix, Mark Davis, and others.
The New American Mandolin Ensemble is directed by Mark M. Davis. The members are:
Mandolin: Bob Asprinio, Mark M. Davis, Mark Levesque, David Miller
Mandola: Robert A. Margo, August Watters
Classical guitar: Beverly Davis, Judith Handler
Bass: Jim Bates

David Miller just put together this very entertaining musical collage of excerpts from the New American Mandolin Ensemble's upcoming concert at the Tang Center - the same program we will be presenting in Europe at the Eurofestival 2014 in Bruchsal. The video highlights the energy and rhythmic vitality of this repertoire. Note that it ends with Chris Acquavella's very cool "Yutuma"! (We love that piece, Chris!).
