Spring is here! Got home from work today and spent some time on the back porch picking and strumming. A little breezy, but not enough to put a damper on. No way I was not going to enjoy the sunshine! Hope everyone is enjoying the spring.

Glad to hear things are beginning to "thaw" from the incredibly hard winter you guys had...

We played a wedding outside in a garden on Saturday, and that was just peachy. We had an incredibly hard winter too. Hard for Georgia that is, which means not hard at all.
Hit 70ºF today, first time in six months. "Rain and wet snow" in the forecast for early next week.
Living in Rochester, I've experienced over the years, snow in eight out of the twelve months, October through May. Not every year, not even most years, but the persistence of wintry weather here is remarkable. We're not in the mountains, no glaciers or tundra around, but we sure get more than our share of winter.
Not to complain...

From Ben - "..Hope everyone is enjoying the spring.". Well, this morning is bright & sunny & promises to be a lovely Spring day in Northern England. However, tomorrow,i believe it's back to normal = cold, wet & windy. After the wettest winter in the UK since records began,& all the flooding we had in Southern England,we need all the dry weather we can get. Some poor folks won't be back in their homes for many months yet,

Although I still have about three feet of snow in my yard, the temperatures are telling me that spring in sight! I am ready for dry ground, sun and my contiuing learning process on my mandolin of course.
Just got back from a couple of weeks in Florida and N. Carolina. My Florida friends tell me you can tell the Michigan people because they are the only ones wearing shorts. Sixty degrees works for me after spending six days without power in the Ice storm. We managed to eke out a couple of 75 and 80 degree days there and now things are looking up a little for us in Mich. What we had in lower Michigan this year was more like I imagine the Minnesota folks get on a regular basis. (without the ice storm debacle) We had a thread recently about the reasons behind the rising and falling Mandolin market. I bought two Mandolins this year. No doubt the weather plays a little part in it.
75F yesterday and 77F today in sunny Denver. Sprouts coming up through the mulch, koi starting to move about, tweety birds too, all whilst I sit on the patio with my Rigel and a beer after work.
Thought of doing that the other day but still a little too cold
Daffodils are bloom here, only about a month late.

The inventory is always in some flux, but that's part of the fun.
Been the mildest winter I can remember here in Scotland, but still no sign of summer yet; getting a bit warmer but cloudy and rainy right now. Not quite good busking weather yet.
Yeah! just spent another hour playing out on the back porch!

95º. I hate Spring because it means summer (a.k.a. Hell) is coming. Time to hit the road for the coast soon. Gotta save some bux.
Edit: Maybe time to get to work on that ice mandolin idea I've been playing around with in my head.

There's a French rhyme that sums it up nicely: En avril, ne te découvre pas d'un fil; en mai, fais ce qu'il te plaît; en juin, tu te vêtiras d'un rien.
Translation: In April, don't take off even one thread; in May, do what you please; in June you'll be dressed in nothing.
Proving to be true this year here in North Carolina, the first part anyway...had some porch-playing time last week but it's feeling like winter again now. Soon, soon...
