    Default ISO GA Luthier

    Hello!

I recently purchased a mandolin with some high fret issues as the b note on the e string is playing a c natural. Was hoping I could find a local luthier to GA who is currently accepting mandolins to work on. I'm preferential to driving as I live in GA!

    Thank you!

Georgia's a big state. Randy Wood is on the coast. I'm a mile from the northwest Georgia border. I think there are a couple of folks on the south side of Atlanta.

Tom Haywood is in Peachtree City. I haven't needed him in a while. I assume he's still in business. 404.974.7416

Tom is no longer doing luthier work at least with mandolins.

Thanks for the mention, guys. Faxmachine, sorry I haven't responded to your last email. I was stumped for any suggestions by not knowing your location.

Yeah I'm in the middle GA area, but I'm more than willing to drive to get work done especially if it's a few hour wait or anything of that nature. Not keen on sending the mandolin out somewhere so yeah.

You might look up Tom Dodson who has or had a repair shop in Jackson, GA.

I'm in Murphy NC and would be happy to work with you to perfect your setup. Not a business for me, I focus on helping local folks, especially those playing in church, etc. If you don't settle on another source, send me a message with contact info and we'll come up with a plan to hang out in my shop and do the work together.

Ronnie Griffin in Woodbine GA (just north of Jax) is one of my fav’s for fretwork and can usually handle setup work fairly quickly. If that’s close enough, I’d be happy to send you contact info.

I had some work by Tom Dodson many years ago before I found Tom Haywood. Both did just fine. I haven't had any work done recently. Our band's rhythm guitar picker and lead singer had a fight with a table saw. The saw won so the band hasn't played in a while.
