I know you're joshing us, but at some point people who say this are going to have to face facts and embrace the fact that "Grimm" has been done for nearly five years, and few people know who Claire Coffee is anymore. I believe her work there is what most people remember most, unless they watched "General Hospital" when she was on that (I did not).

I say this even though I am deep into a full-on binge of the show, as I was informed its run on Amazon Prime will be ending in about a week. Just started Season 5. Somehow managed to survive a very dark Season 4.

Because nobody, come on, really plays a mandolin.
Yeppers. Sho' 'nuff. And there's a whole lot of nobodies around here.

Maybe I have some selection bias. Young friends of my niece, who happen to be on the phone with visiting family remind me that she was recently in some single season series The Hunt for the Bone Collector. But yea, Grimm be gone.

She made a BIG impression on me in "Grimm." A rather grim one, at that. She seems to have been not too busy as an actress since then - perhaps raising little Calvin Eugene is enough. Being half Hexenbiest, half Mandozauber, he's sure to be a handful.

Man, as soon as someone mentions Chris Thile the thread goes sideways...

Does Chris Thile even play Bluegrass?

Claire - Clair de Lune (or as Victor Borge so aptly put it "English translation - Clear da Saloon").

An expert probably could in person, but it was my dad years ago who told me about the shape being to do with eliminating standing waves, and he played a lot of guitars and banjos in his time. (He would have been referring more to classical guitars I think)
Having said that I've seen a square home made violin, and to me it just sounded like a violin.

The shape of the guitar comes from the viola da mano or vihuela de mano, which in turn comes from the viola da gamba and viola da arco. 'Of the hand' and 'of the leg and 'of the bow' respectively. The shape probably originally enabled bowing on a curved bridge, in order to play each string separately. Violin family instruments simply added points.
