    Default Nashville flatiron

Hello Everyone. I purchased a 99 Nashville Flatiron and wonder if anyone knows how many Flatirons were produced in Nashville and the years that they were produced? Thanks for the info.

I don't think Gibson ever published any production numbers for any of their mandolins.

Pheffernan, I was wondering how you like your National Mandolin? I am a big fan of National Reso-Phonic and own an National M-2 Guitar. It's a wood body with a single cone resonator, and has a 12 fret neck joint. I haven't played a National mando.

I highly recommend it. It gets my award for the mandolin that most exceeded my expectations. I had no prior experience with National instruments, but I had read good things about the RM-1 and came in to a little found money when an opportunity presented itself. Not surprisingly, the thing is loud, but the walnut body yields a tone that is surprisingly sweet, and despite its mass, it is surprisingly easy to play. It's funny, but I look at my collection and I can imagine getting down to one flattop or even one A5, but I never really think about getting rid of the National.
