    Default First Recording

Finally got this to post. Had to jump through some hoops like getting my You Tube account all set up and downloading ANOTHER app. But here it is. Hope people like it. I know the sound isn't great, nor is my playing, but I am proud of it!

Congrats on the first recording and I like the montage you put together to go with it! How long have you been playing? I've only been playing about 6 or so months. I've recorded myself once and plan to do it again sometime soon. It's a good tool to track your progress! Enjoy the journey.

    Thanks CSIMelissa,
At this point I have been playing more than a year. I will have had my Girouard for a year come late September. I have made little video recordings of myself practicing some things, none really for public consumption. Then there is at least one very suspect video recorded on my own phone when I had been playing for about 3 or 4 months. It was at the local watering hole and a good friend was doing a solo acoustic guitar night. He said go home and get the mando.... so I did. We played a couple of soings I had been working on and a couple more that I had never even tried. The video is of "Wagon Wheel", not going to be posting that one any time soon though! LOL
I plan to re-record this little ditty soon. I will probably even try doing some of the covers I have learned. Now that I know how to work "garage band", I can feel a bit more comfortable recording the different parts like I did with this one.
    Thanks again for the encouragement!

That's great that your friend got you up to play with him not long after you started. That's something I hope I can do someday. (Play with others; not specifically your friend. Ha!)

Just enjoy yourself and be sure to post any future recordings.

Nice! I still haven't done a multi-track recording. It's a useful skill to have. Well done for putting it together and sharing it here. There's nothing wrong with your playing either, sounds good!

Thanks! That means a lot! I love playing, but get a little self conscious around others who have more experience.

Nice tune, by the way. Is it an original?

Great sounding and great looking mando. I felt I could get a feel for its tone from your clip. Good job. And the pics were great too.
    Enjoyed that.
No matter where I go, there I am...Unless I'm running a little late.

no Problems with your playing, and it is great to get that first public portrayal out there, for all to enjoy. Now that you've started, you will continue! I talk from experience!
