Default Dawg Funk on Fridays TV show

Never heard of this show, but wished I had seen in it 1981

been working on this tune both on mandola and mandolin

Looks like Gris has a Gibson F5 ? sounds awesome whatever it is.

Check out Marshall owning that guitar.... some people.

Marshall has some "Petzel Logic" chords going on there. Interesting voicings.

Yep, his '27 fern. And even at this early time, he had the Dawg leash strap.

I believe his old, beautifully worn-in Fern, is a '25.

Is that Kramer doing the intro?

That "Fridays" show was ABC's attempt in the early 80's to copy Saturday Night Live. It was only on for two or three seasons and was, while a bit edgier than SNL at the time, not nearly as successful.

Michael Richards (who played Kramer a decade later) was a cast member, as was Larry David (co-creator of Seinfeld, the inspiration of the George character, and later the star of Curb Your Enthusiasm).

Grisman and the band sound great.

Man but that band was TIGHT!

Love Wasserman's bass playing, wonder what he's up to these days?

Have to watch later, thanks. I remember Fridays, it was good. And Melanie Chartoff was a hottie for my then late teenage eyes!
    Blow on, man.

Wasserman has played with Bob Weir in Ratdog.........not sure if that is still ongoing. Looking back I prefer Todd Phillips or current bass player for the last few decades Jim Kerwin with my Dawg music.
