The idea is very interesting --- mandola-banjo!!
But maybe the luthier could have found four more Grover banjo tuners or else installed regular mandolin style tuners?
If I were to buy it I'd probably scrounge up for more Grovers for it.
Certainly looks like the idea has legs though judging by the fact that offers are being made...
