    Hi

    I've just updated www.thecelticmandolin.com.

If you are struggling with adding triplets and ornamentation to your tunes the new 'In Detail' tutorials might be of interest. All the tutorial materials on this site rely on a system of repetition of 'phrases', just as if you were trying to learn from a real player. Still, learning tunes requires some persistence and dedication no matter what resources you use. There aren't that many shortcuts available, but having the parts of tunes organised as I have done should make learning Irish and Scottish styles on the mandolin a good bit easier.

Please note that the 'free' stuff is now hosted in a Dropbox account. It's very convenient and also free. If you are on a tablet or iPad you should be able to play the files on the site immediately from your browser, but if you have a Dropbox account you also get the chance to download them into your Dropbox 'cloud' folder. If you are on a PC or a Mac and the files don't play direct from the site then you can right-click and save them to a place of your choice on your hard drive.

Interesting using German titles for the jigs...
