This Thursday, November 20, the Louisville Mandolin Orchestra will be featured on the NPR station WUKY in Lexington KY. The hour long broadcast begins at 8 pm EST, and is hosted by musicologist Nick Lawrence. To stream the live performance, simply go to: wuky.org, and click on the live play button. The LMO, founded by Mike Schroeder in 1988, is led by conductor Bob Elkins. There will be both performance of classical and contemporary music, as well as discussion of the instruments used by the LMO and the history of mandolin orchestras in the Louisville area since the late 18th century.
