Not sure whether to enjoy this or be afraid, but the instrument is cool and the view even cooler. Coil springs act as delay line and reverb, drum heads amplify. After a bit of reverb demo the bow comes out and we hear it for real.

Perfect for your ecstatic Sufi alt-dervish-metal band.

That's pretty cool. Is there a wall mount for it to get it up away from my dog?

I think it folds down into components, for the most part. Or it can be modified, with folding parts and such. I wonder how it will do on fast tempo stuff, the jigs, reels, and breakdowns so many of us like.

Compared to this instrument, getting an upright bass to a gig is a piece of cake.

Does it sound better with a blue chip?

Where do you attach a clip-on tuner?

By the way, I think this thing is really cool!

You're looking at him. Me, I'll need one with frets.

No. In fact, believe it or not, it sounds worse!

Pretty much anywhere. But I reckon those overtones will play havoc with a tuner.

    that thing is bitchin......
something about it makes me think of the musical world in the times of Mad Max, sounds like bits of the old soundtrack from Riven...
and so much more sophisticated than the average washtub bass .......

I think it could really add something to my Bluegrass band......

I am truly taken with it, so interesting to listen to but.......
there is part of me that thinks one might find an identical sound via some amplified fretted or fretless instrument. But the fact that it is acoustic and 'organic' is what is wonderful.

It's probably because it sin't no part of nothin'. Personally, I couldn't stand her and never heard her utter a single funny quip, but rather found her annoying. Her departure from The View months ago was not mourned by yours truly, though the protracted testimonials from her co-hosts were, and I have not given her a moment's thought since then. Thanks SO much for bringing her up.

So, I wasn't too likely to make the connection, iffy at best. After all, other than a few letters in their names, they have nothing in common. Well, maybe they do. One is a motley assemblage of stretchy parts and membranes, producing nearly interminable monotonous tones of questionable cultural value, and the other is ............ the yaybahar.
