Thread: Got my Breedlove off lawaway!

Default Got my Breedlove off lawaway!

After putting it on layaway in July I got my Breedlove out yesterday! Early too. It's a limited edition FF and is #4 of 10. My pictures do NOT do it justice! And the sound. Wow. Beautiful intonation. I can't say enough about this instrument.

    Congratulations!

My youngest son (9) has an A style Breedlove and is an excellent mandolin. Now you have to change your signature

That is a beautiful mandolin. I've been having some Breedlove MAS lately in part due to your posts about this one. (iMO) one of the coolest things about your mando is the way they did the fret markers on the face of the fingerboard. I also love flame of the wood, blonde glossy finish and classy black binding. Way cooler than a boring sunburst F5 copy. Go make some awesome music with it!

Very nice! I played a Breedlove this weekend and I was really impressed. It sounded better to my ears than the Weber on the wall beside it at almost twice the price.

Breedlove makes some very nice instruments. I have a tenor Uke that is a base model($1000) and it easily outperforms many that cost 2 or 3 times the $.

The necks, fretwork, and intonation are usually spot on with BL guitars and Ukes. I have not had opportunity to play one of the mandolins.

    Yours looks very nice-enjoy!

That's a very pretty mandolin. I like the natural finish and the grain is very nice. Congratulations on your new mandolin!

That's a beauty. I really like Breedloves for both the exceptional quality, unique aesthetics, and great price point. You will like that mandolin!

As it so happens, I played a Breedlove this weekend too, and was similarly surprised. I was expecting it to sound thin and be hard to play. But the setup was spectacular and the tone was much better than I expected at that price point.

Thanks all for the compliments! I just got finished playing it a few minutes ago and I am really surprised how easy it is to play. It just feels good. Much better than the Ky KM-150 I had BUT I guess that only goes to reason.

When I was getting my Kentucky set up properly last I was chatting with the owner/luthier at Willcutt Guitar and he gushed on and on about the Breedloves to me and I am certainly glad he "introduced" me to them. The quality of the intonation and of the all over instrument is amazing - it knocks my socks off every time I touch it. I did compare it to pricier mandolins too and without a doubt I made the best decision for me.

Sorta cool to think only 9 other people on the planet has one of these and I really like the elegant, non-traditional look of it. Matches my personality.

I will confess that it is MUCH more of a mandolin than I am player but I know I'll be truly worth of it someday.... Like when I'm 87.

You have really special mandolin there.... congratulations!

They are very fine mandolins, with excellent intonation and playability. Too bad they seem to have dropped the nicest and most interesting instruments in their catalog since the takeover.... you did well to grab that while you still could.

I hope that is always the case. What I mean is that I hope you always have a mandolin much better than your playing, no matter how great you become. I hope you are never limited by your instrument.

That is a beauty. That design makes so much more sense than the traditional F style. I have only played one Breedlove ( a lower model) and it was very nice. I wish you tens of thousands of happy picking hours.
