In the way of custom , not really anything to the mandolin, it came from the custom shop and has a custom serial number which isn't a number it is the word darrylicshon instead of a number, Jeff also picked it for me from what i said i wanted in type of sound and music style i play, Jeff was very helpful, i talked to him on the phone and email

what are the fretboards like on these? Flat or a bit rounded?
I am thinking about going and checking one out but driving is very hard for me right now (knee surgery) and I am not going to make the trip if it's rounded. I prefer flat fretboards.

I've owned both, and my Eastman MD 515 was/is an absolute bluegrass canon, not a typical Eastman. The JBovier is "consistently" voiced bluegrassy/traditional, whereas most Eastmans tend to be voiced more modern. Can't go wrong either way...

I have played a few 515's and i like my J Bovier better, but the 515 has a smaller nut and frets they are both radius fret boards

I was close to jackson music today so i stopped by they had 2 615's so i had to try them they sounded good of cource one sounded better, wish i had my J Bovier to compare, it isn't far from my house so next i will take my J Bovier to compare we will see which will sound better to me
