Thread: Mandola Instructional Materials

    Default Mandola Instructional Materials

I play mandolin, OM and guitar, and I've been trying to learn mandola. In searching for posts concerning mandola instruction, I recently found a post pointing to THE MANDOLA SAMPLER by Niles Hokkanen at Elderly. I found it very helpful. I'd appreciate folks pointing me to other materials that help me learn mandola.

Being a bowed string player, I combined Marilynn Mair's Complete Mandolinist with VIOLA books for my technique studies. But then I didn't mind reading alto clef.

    Hi,

I find Will Fly's website good for my attempts to play the mandola. It contains many tenor guitar (CGDA) tabs that you can use to play mandola. He also provides videos of the songs themselves. Variety of tunes, but mainly jazz and country blues. Search for Will Fly guitar on Google or YouTube.
