Default Allow shipped solid state Amp to Acclimate before opening?

I'll be receiving a new AG200 solid state acoustic amp from Carvin today via the Big Brown Truck.

It has been below 20°F (-7°C) here for the past several days.

Should I allow the shipping box containing the amp to acclimate before opening it? Is there any reason to worry about a fairly rapid temperature swing when it comes to a solid state amp? Is there a risk to the vinyl on the amp or the adhesive used to apply it?

You should be fine for opening the box and removing the amp .
It would probally be a good idea to than let the amp warm up to room tempature for a couple
Of hours before plugging in and turning on .
Than comes the task of properly breaking in the amp, which is itself , a debatable subject .

Funny, I left an old Fender Deluxe Reverb in my trunk the other night. Remembered to grab all the guitars and mandolins. The amp sat overnight in sub freezing temps. I didn't think twice about firing it up as soon as I brought it in. Worked flawlessly as usual, and that is of course a tube amp. Solid state amps are pretty tough to kill, even if you try. I think you should be fine Ed, rock on out!

Condensation on electrical connections would be my only worry.

Sure, let it come to temp and humidity, shouldn't take long.

Always let the amp warm up before turning on. If like you said it has been really cold for the past few days

    Thanks for the replies.
For anyone who is interested, I allowed the box to acclimate for 4.5 hours before opening it just to be safe. (If felt cool, but not cold to the touch when I opened it). The amp was wonderfully packaged, and appears to be working well.
It is a very nice amp. During a run-through last night I played a passive soundboard transducer, an under-saddle transducer, and a microphone through it. Good results all around. (NFI)

It was certainly good to let it warm up. As dcoventry said, condensation can kill electronic devices.

I've had a lot of solid state amps in a cold pickup truck bed for an hour or more drive to a job ,ran it in to a bar turned it on and sound checked with no problems. Don the same with a few tube and hybrid amps as well with no problems. Never thought about the tolex and glue though. As I recall they suffered more from the pickup truck bed than from the cold.
