Electronics threads

I wonder about the potential usefulness of a subcategory for all threads about the electronics of our avocation. Microphones, pickups, recording equipment, recording techniques and tips, software, amps, pre-amps, effects boxes, equalizers, stage monitors, cables, things with initials that I don't even know what they do, all the electrical paraphernalia, and how to use it.

I know for me it would make those threads a little easier to find. I am an absolute beginner with all of it, and it might be easier if it were all in one place.

I thought that was the purpose of the Equipment category, or at least that was the intention.
