Ok, I will be the first to ask, what brand is the mandolin Mr. Ostroushko is playing in the clip with Mr. Rogers?

It is a Gavin Baird. He no longer makes instruments.

George, did he play a carved top or a flat top oval hole mostly? Thanks!

Peter Ostroushko is one of my favorites. For a while I had his Mando Chronicles constantly playing in the background.

Thanks for mentioning this cd set, Jeff. I've ad it on the last thirty minutes or so--it's hard to say how wonderful it is.
Do you have any advice for aspiring fiddlers?

His mandolin is a carved top. Sheba was the name of Gavin's instruments. He made a Peter Ostroushko model.

Pretty much where ever Pete was playing music - good things were happening, Pete was very vocal about preferring the A model mandolins and pretty much played that Baird in the later part of his career.

    What a great tunes!

The second tune is on his Blue Mesa record.
