    What is the mandolin to the right? It doesn't look like any Gibson I've seen. (Binding different, especially in the inside point of the large scroll which is different itself, cleaner script, 6-piece vase (pot) with a little bit of 3-D effect at the base rather than flat, more delicate "flower", etc..)

    Edit:
    Never mind, I clicked the photo and I see it is a Master Model. Someone put a little extra into the inlays on that one.

    Yes, that's a Derrington Master Model. The headstock scroll binding doesn't seem to extend as far as on Loars. I've seen this on a lot of MM's.

    Yes. The loops of the 'G'and the 'b' are not completely closed. This is not addressed specifically in Spann's excellent book, hence my innocent inquiry.
