I love collecting mandolin methods. I have the first two volumes of William Place's mandolin method, but can't find the third volume anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I might get my hands on a copy.

Try contacting someone in the Providence Mandolin Orchestra or contact Marilyn Mair to inquire about possible availability. Chances are pretty slim but it's a good "place" to start William Place was from Rhode Island and had a (long since closed) music store in East Providence, RI. Good luck!!

Matthew,
Funny, I've got 1 & 3 no 2. Perhaps we could work out something. You can PM me, let's see.

The upper level books are always less common. It took me some time to find Volume 4 of the Bickford Method. Most players were amateurs and many gave up before they got to the upper level books. I prob have all three of the Place method -- I would have to look.
